Trips that work in a single day
By train, a Swiss day trip often means two or three changes, and at the far end the last bus has usually gone. With your own driver you travel door to door, stop wherever you like and never have to catch a return connection. For families with children, and for visitors who only have a few days in Switzerland, that is usually the difference between half a day of sightseeing and a full one.

How the day runs
We pick you up at your hotel or your address at the agreed time. Along the way we stop for photographs, coffee and lunch; the driver knows where stopping is allowed and where it is worth it. In the afternoon we head back, or add one more stop if there is time. In the evening we drop you where we started.

Frequently asked questions
How far can we get in one day?
The Rhine Falls, Lucerne, Appenzell, Bern and the Bernese Oberland all work comfortably as day trips. For Ticino or the Engadine we suggest two days, otherwise you spend more time in the car than out of it.
What does a full day cost?
You book a flat daily rate for the car and the driver, not a per-kilometre tariff. You get the price in writing before you book; waiting time is included, entry tickets and parking are not.
Can we change the plan during the day?
Yes. If the weather turns or you like somewhere more than expected, we stay longer or go elsewhere. As long as the day does not get much longer, the price stays the same.
Does the driver wait while we look around?
Yes, he stays with the car nearby and is reachable by phone. You are not tied to a departure time.
Do these trips run in winter?
Yes. From October to April we drive on winter tyres and carry snow chains. If a pass is closed we take the alternative route and tell you in advance.
